i feel like this is greatly simplifying what has actually happened. james gunn made those tweets long before the first guardians movie came out and has since apologized for them and pledged to do better. disney was aware of these tweets when they hired him. james gunn has also been outspoken about his views against trump, earning him hate from the far right.

but this right wing guy named mike cernovich, who is known for creating fake outrages like pizzagate, and has made disgusting rape tweets of his own, dredged up the tweets recently to create new conservative outrage (and there was plenty of outrage when gunn was first hired for gotg because of those tweets, which iirc is when he apologized for them) with the sole purpose of hurting gunn’s career.

please can we take a step back from the knee-jerk for a second. yeah the tweets were garbage. we know it. he knows it. and he apologized for it ten years ago. like bonzai-bunny said, disney was AWARE when they hired him for it. he’d already publicly apologized for them. i could care less what happens to gunn. the issue here is that he tweeted extremely anti-trump stuff, and then vile alt-right accounts dug up old, and already addressed, garbage with the sole intent of getting him fired. they didn’t want him fired for the 10 year old tweets. they wanted him fired for being anti-trump. that’s why this is such a big issue, and that’s why the cast is speaking out. 

whats the point in letting people grow if we burn them to the ground over decade old stuff that theyve apologized for? i guarantee not one single person reblogging this post has never said something vile, gross, or disrespectful. would you expect everyone to immediately delete their blog forever? i’m not defending what he did: it was gross. but he already got his punishment for it 10 years ago and he apologized. there is a bigger picture here, and its not about the 10 year old tweets. 

yeah you don’t have to forgive Gunn and accept his apology but realize this entire thing was orchestrated by the online far right specifically in response to Gunn opposing trump and they specifically went looking to frame him and cause a controversy

I saw a sad facebook post from the gay bookstore back in Ann Arbor where I used to live about how they hadn’t sold any books that day so I went on their online store and bought a couple, and while you don’t get #deals like elsewhere online, I’d love it if y’all would consider buying your next gay book from them instead of like, Amazon.

Yep, this is a real problem. From a design stand point it saves fabric and time since you don’t have to add any darts or pockets, and they go with the premise that a flat square shape should fit everyone without having to make much changes to the pattern (except to make it bigger or smaller). This whole one-size-fits-all mentality in fashion is so flawed, and actually impractical, it really annoys me how teachers let it slide in college and how the apparel industry continues to spew it year after year.

As someone who has breasts (DDD-H depending on what manufacturer I’m talking to) and loves pockets, let me wholeheartedly recommend eshakti.com. They will customize necklines, hemlines, etc., for a $9.95 flat fee, they will customize to your measurements if you don’t fit a standard size, and I’ve really enjoyed all my dresses from them. Y’all really gonna make me bring back the essential oil discourse over whether or not you can ingest essential oils? Really? Really?

Short answer: no, essential oils are not safe to ingest in any way shape or form. They are for atmospheric diffusing or for topical application via the correct dilution methods via the use of a carrier oil. Water cannot dilute an essential oil. It’s basic chemistry.

Long answer: food extracts and tinctures are not the same thing as essential oils, and no, it doesn’t matter if they’re organic or not.
“Therapeutic grade” and “food grade” are non regulated terms used by essential oil companies to sell more products, and are not recognized by health governing bodies, including reputable aromatherapy and holistic schools.

I say this as both a patient and practitioner of holistic therapies with nothing to gain or lose from telling you this. I have no motive other than your well being and that of the people around you. As I have stated, many, many times I merely wish you to be safe. (warning, link contains mention of child death.)

If you reblog this post with some variation of “okay but some oils are safe to ingest”, I am sorry, but you are misinformed. And I suggest you read
Essential Oil Safety: A Guide for Health Care Professionals by Robert Tisserand and Rodney Young, as your education on the subject has been remiss, and I would hate for your to accidentally harm yourself or someone else through good intentions.

A good holistic practitioner does not reject science. Nor do they advocate for the rejection of conventional medicine. It is not your place to replace the doctor. It is your place to support the person through needing care. Remember that.
