Visual exhaustion is another symptom of ADHD, which means that if we see something enough times (or we see enough instances of something), it fades into background noise and we fail to notice it.
This is why a lot of ADHD people can stand living surrounded by mess/clutter, because it’s just visual background noise to us. We don’t even notice it anymore.
So if we write something down and see the note stuck up somewhere a lot – or if we write a LOT of somethings down and have a lot of notes hanging around – then we’re even less likely to think of/remember the thing because it’s just part of the scenery now.
ADHD is the Catch-22 of brains.
A very good thing to know about ADHD. Don’t fall into the trap.
A lot of folks in the comments are talking about writing on themselves or setting phone/calendar reminders. Your mileage may vary on those. You may also want to consider ways to set a habit of referring back to a planner or similar every day/hour.
Check your voter registration. If you have any mutuals in Texas, specifically, inform them of the need to check their voter registrations but they are trying to pull this crap all over the country. Check your voter registration early, and check it often.
Everyone of you in the US needs to check you’re still registered this weekend and register if you aren’t. And you need to go out and vote. And before any of you even get the thought of ‘it doesn’t even matter’ in your head FUCK THAT.
FUCKING TEXAS has a chance of going blue this election. Let’s make that happen. Get out there and vote and make sure this weekend you can.

My dad was born in 1956 and remembers mysterious boxes showing up on their doorstep with food and blankets/clothes. They once gave the family dog the food and it died.
He also said people would try to hit his brothers and him with a car while they were walking to school.
His dad was allowed to die over appendicitis in a hospital. He suffered for days while the staff did NOTHING.
His uncles disappeared and the police did NOTHING. Their car was later found in a canyon, full of bullet holes. The bullets were military issue.
His eldest brother also died under mysterious circumstances.
My great grandmother, the last of our tribe to be born traditionally, outside, owned 5000 acres in northern California. Active imminent domain left her with 1 ACRE. Which they later took to build a post office.
That same grandma, who I’m named after, was kidnapped as a child and held as a slave in a white mans house. She had a wire put through her ear that tethered her so she could only go from her bedroom to the kitchen. Her dad found her and rescued her, ripping the thing out of her ear. My dad said her earlobe was forever split in two pieces.
In church when I was a kid people alienated my family and my dad got jokey death threats all the time. My mom, who was white, was told she was too good for my dad. I was told I was dark but I would hopefully lighten up if I stayed out of the sun. At school we read a story about a “drunken injun” and I cried in class while my classmates mockingly did a raindance and chanted. My first boyfriend said he wished he wasn’t a white guy because Indians get free college.
This shit was recent and current. Go look up suicide, sexual assault, and drug addiction statistics within Native American communities.
White people came to this country and slaughtered us. Your white ancestors did this. Maybe even your grandparents.
America wasn’t won, it was stolen. Native Americans aren’t better off because we have electricity. I’d rather have my people back.

seriously, for many ashkenazi’s things like a baby shower, decorating a nursery before the baby is born, they are such bad luck. and yes, these are traditions other jews do not share, like i WISH i had the pissed off letters my great aunt got when the family heard she was considering naming her children after relatives that were still alive because she was pregnant while overseas in a sephardic community where the practice is not considered bad luck, but they are very much her beliefs. and also, i seriously doubt that there is an office with a plethora of practicing jews in alabama, just saying. the way the person looking to fire the poster speaks, like whenever a gentile says ‘jew’ instead of ‘jewish people/person’ that tends to be a little bit of a warning sign. it’s almost always said in a tone that jews like me (i can call myself such of course) can fricking hear through the internet.
and seriously, just in general tricking someone into eating anything that they say they cannot have for religious or personal reasons is straight up vile.
