I’d never, ever hurt a lady but I’d be happy to punch a feminist.

It’d bring me great joy.

it costs 0 dollars and 0 cents to tell someone their outfit is cool or their hair looks nice

But if you’re a dude it could cost you an otherwise positive interaction and make you seem creepy

i disagree, i think it’s entirely possible to compliment someone and not look creepy. im not talking about an ice breaker to start a conversation, i mean a polite passing compliment. i try to practice this as often as possible.

“excuse me, your hair looks really nice!”

“hey, i like your shirt!”

“hey, your outfit looks super dope. have a nice day!”

all very easy to say super not creepy.

If people think you’re creepy when you compliment them, you might need to take a step back and evaluate what exactly you’re doing that makes them uncomfortable

Nobody is ever creeped out by a genuine compliment

unless its a fucked up compliment like “hi i think your skin would look great on me!” or “wow! i bet a sleeping bag made out of your hair would be super warm and last me comfortably through the winter”

One time a guy hollered “your dress is awesome” out of a car at me and it made my entire day better. If more fellas learned how to give a nice compliment, it’d be way less distressing to interact with them.

“Think of it as a compliment” is a thing because we like being complimented

Think of it as a compliment” is a thing because that wasn’t one.

i just got home and saw a message from a mutual i’ve never talked to, about a birthday gift. DONT CLICK ON THE LINK. i haven’t so i don’t know what it does, but i’ve heard it logs you out and sends you to a fake tumblr to take your information. it’s a hack. and it fucks up your computer/laptop/phone/device.

this is what the message looks like, and if you click the link, it sends it to every single one of your mutuals (or possibly ALL THE PEOPLE THAT FOLLOW YOU)

WHOEVER IS MAKING THESE VIRUSES, ARE MAKING NEW ONES THAT SEEM MORE REALISTIC. THEY ARENT USING CAPITALIZATION ANYMORE SO IT LOOKS MORE “REAL” BUT I SWEAR TO YOU ITS FALSE

PLEASE REBLOG THIS TO WARN YOUR FOLLOWERS, TO SAFE SAFE BECAUSE MORE ARE BEING MADE.

Mmmfnfbbndbdnbudjbdhob sorry for spam

I got this a day or two ago. The people sending them aren’t aware of it, so if you get one, let them know, so they can try and fix it.

Just to let everyone know, I got this message today:

These spam bots are really trying hard to spread this virus around. Let people know you got this message so they can be safe and change their password and run an anti-virus.

Be safe!

All right, my Pillowfort thoughts! (You can log in to the Demo Account here.)

The biggest and most immediate Pillowfort takeaway, for me? Is this:

How your content is controlled, affects how it is engaged with.

When you comment on someone else’s page, you feel like you’re in their space–and *this changes how you act*

As a creator, how people interact with my content is a priority and is just one thing that makes Pillowfort stand out to me. I really believe that the way people act can change how communities are built–and even how fandom behaves with creators and other members. If you’re interested in trying out Pillowfort, you can take a look at the Kickstarter here.

Full disclosure: I’m invested in Pillowfort! Not monetarily, other than backing the Kickstarter, but I’ve reached out to Julia and helped with design and some planning. I have no idea how they do it all–sorting through beta user feedback and rolling out new dev features. The team is enthusiastic, but small and scrappy and I hope for the best for them!
